Future Transport and Mobility

The major challenge in the Transport sector is the transformation towards zero emission in all possible modes of transport. Ultimately, this means vehicles, vessels and airplanes, which are either electric, hydrogen fuelled and/or the use of a biobased or renewable fuel. Other challenges are: autonomous driving and new mobility concepts.

Uniresearch consultants have profound knowledge of the opportunities and challenges in the transport and mobility domain and are keen to support you to acquire funding for research and innovation actions in e.g. the following European programs: Green Vehicle, Mobility for Growth, Fuel Cells and Hydrogen, Maritime and Infrastructures. Our services in project set-up and – management cover each development stage; from early stage research projects to demonstration projects.

ZEFES

ZEFES is a 3,5-year project aiming to deploy 9 different long-haul truck configurations (BEV and FCEV) in various use cases covering important TEN-T corridors in Europe.
Uniresearch Role

Uniresearch is in charge of the day-to-day management of the ZEFES project, which includes financial and project administration. Next to the management activities in ZEFES, Uniresearch is also leading the tasks on dissemination, communication and exploitation.

Project

The ZEFES project will contribute to the aims and objectives set out in the Green Deal and 2ZERO partnership, where Europe commits itself to be the first CO2 neutral continent by 2050. The use of zero tailpipe emission vehicles for long-distance heavy-duty transport is an important pathway towards achieving these targets. In this project, such vehicles are Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs). In the ZEFES project, OEMs, suppliers and research partners will work together towards the overall goal of ZEVs for long distance heavy transport, by focussing on efficiency improvements, mass production capabilities and demonstrating the use of the technology in daily operations. This will bring ZEV adoption in the freight transport ecosystem a big step further.
