Uniresearch supports Mercedes, the coordinator, with all aspects of the project management, which means we keep track of the activities in the project, understand and monitor how the work is developing, plan and prepare the meetings and assist with the administration and reporting.
The NEWBIE project addresses the challenges in Li-battery development on three different levels.
On cell level: Structured electrodes and a reference electrode per cell enable faster charging (from 10 to 80% charging in < 15min) and at the same time a high energy density of > 600 Wh/L.
On module level: Immersion cooling enables more efficient cooling (and thereby faster charging) and a more efficient housing allows 5-20% weight savings.
On production level: A combination of extrusion, laser drying and induction drying will save > 30% of energy during battery production, making manufacturing more environmentally friendly.
The project consortium consists of 4 partners from 1 country.
